Wolf And Badger Thanksgiving

Wolf and Badger, is a boutique designer store that stocks an ever changing range of  independent designers across its three stores, Dover Street, Notting Hill and Porto Montenegro.

To celebrate Thanksgiving the asked my best friend Chloe and I to create an autumnal feast fit for a fashion emporium. We came up with the idea of collecting leaves and branches and spraying them in a range of autumnal colours and poppy fashion brights to tie in with their collection.

And then, and then we got into the challenging world of food art. Respect to all those who are paid to make food look good!

Jane Eyre (Red Room Productions)

Last spring I quoted on a job that I didn't get, but remained in touch with Olivia Gillman, who had been commissioning the job. In turn I commissioned her to produce and direct a performance piece (The Mad Hatters Tea Party) for In The Woods which was a great success.

For her latest play, an adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, she asked me to make a multi-pointed polygon  piece that could represent the madness of Bertha. The resulting piece contains a light which will be switched on and off during the performance.

It was a really lovely job, that I made my own paper for!  Awaiting the pictures of it on stage, but i'm excited.

Battersea Power Station

A few weeks ago I had the great privilege to install a job in Battersea Power Station,  a late night call for help from one on my best friends Celia Lusted, warranted my first 6am cycle ride in the dark and the rain of the year. Once onsite I was issued with a hard hat and high vis jacket and given strict instructions about where we we're and weren't allowed.

Luckily some t lights needed frosting and I slipped past the barriers in search of fresh air and empty space and had a little explore. That building is sublime!

AIM Independant Music Awards

In The Woods was nominated, and short listed for best independent festival at the Aim Independent Music Awards! We didn't win (congrats to LeeFest) but we had a lovely drunken night and the boys all wore suits which was a change from their onsite attire. Also massive congratulations to Charlie (ITW) who produced Alt-J's the Mercury Award winning  debut.

Cuba (Libra) anyone?

Ok ok so i didn't go to Cuba, but in the spirit of all things Cuban and working with the wonderful Cloud Idea's we had a party at Coworth Park in Ascot. This private event had the theme 'Havana before Castro' and was complelte with dancing girls, a cigar smoking washer woman and a string of excotic perfomers.

I designed and oversaw the production of paper palm trees and tropical flowers all made of brown packing paper, that gave a feeling of intimacy and tiki huts to the dinner, whilst the photo booth area was adorned with a beautiful life sized illustration of a Cuban street scene by Tamara Venn and Kila Carr-Ince, that became 3d with washing lines hung with vintage underwear for the guest to walk under into dinner.
